The largest plant in Syria fills up to 15 thousand gas cylinders per day. February 4. The Damascus Chamber of Industry and Rural Development continues to hold a monthly shopping festival (“Made in Syria”) in the sports city of Al-Jalaa in Damascus, this time 135 national food, textile and chemical enterprises took part in it.

Participating industrialists offer discounts and offers on all their products in order to achieve the goal of the festival, which will be a positive intervention that will ease the burden on consumers. Russian military brought textbooks on the Russian language to Syrian children — 80 sets were distributed to a school in Aleppo. Such specialized publications are very rare for the Arab Republic. Such festivals have been held since 2015. Each such fair brings about 80 thousand dollars to manufacturers, it is attended by at least 30 thousand people. The plans of the organizers — to travel to neighboring countries. Participants of the event insist that they can easily compete even with Chinese manufacturers. Clothing made of pure cashmere, for example, according to them, is much better and cheaper, which made it possible to conclude contracts with European companies. In the future, manufacturers plan to enter the Russian market.

The organizers are currently negotiating their trade festivals in neighboring Lebanon and Jordan. International sanctions against the Syrian government do not apply to private producers, which means that Syrian industrialists, in addition to the desire, have every opportunity to regain the once-lost niche in the global commodity market. February 11. After a long break and despite all the difficulties, the workers of the Homs oil refinery station were able to commission a 500 k1a compressor, which is necessary for the production of gasoline.

Maintenance staff at the Homs refinery station, with the support of the Syrian Arab Republic Ministry of Petroleum, were able to complete work at the refinery plant. Employees of the plant emphasize that the work was completed, despite the foreign sanctions against Syria and the lack of interaction with foreign technical companies that could supply the necessary parts and materials. After the restoration is completed in several districts in the eastern part of the city of Deir-ez-Zor, including Hamidiyah, Jubayla, and Fuad, the workers clean up the debris and clear the streets. The Technical Services Administration, under an agreement with the city council, began cleaning the streets. It is planned to open the main streets and some additional streets in the area of ​​the former airport. Removing debris in the Deir-ez-Zor areas is the first step in the strategic plan for the reconstruction of the city. It will be continued by restoring the sewage system and laying new asphalt. Participants in the Syrian Tribal National Assembly, which was held in the province of Daraa in the village of Al-Garriya al-Sharqiya, rejected the continuation of any illegal foreign presence in Syria. Representatives of the tribes stressed that they remain committed to national ideals and «sovereign Syria throughout its sacred land». With the opening of the bridge, the ring road around Aleppo will take its pre-war look. The 120-meter Ramusi bridge, named after the district of the same name, is a significant part of the bypass road around the largest city in Syria. Before the war, it was possible to get from Aleppo to interchanges leading to many other localities along this overpass. Engineers have to rebuild the most complex engineering structure. The first after-war driving school opened in the city of Aleppo. Young people who could not get a driver’s license during the hostilities, will master the driver’s skills there. The course lasts about a month and includes both theoretical and practical classes. Despite the fact that the driving school is private, it is actively helped by the state, interested in teaching the young Syrians to follow the rules of the road.

Before the war, training in a driving school for obtaining a driver’s license in Syria was not necessary; many mastered driving on their own. However, the country’s leadership after the end of hostilities adopted a law on compulsory training of people in driving schools in the hope of changing the future manners and habits of local drivers, which are characteristic, however, for most countries in the Middle East. February 13. In the Syrian province of Damascus builders erected a residential complex for young families.

So far, only a few were able to get an apartment in a modern residential complex «Sakin ash-Shababi» for free. In order for own housing to cease to be an unrealizable dream for the main part of Syrian youth, there is a special state program in the country that covers all of it. At the direction of President Bashar Assad, there is a program for the construction of housing for young people.

Residential complex for young families «Sakyan Shabab» today among such construction projects is the flagship. The plan provides for the construction of apartments ranging from 60 to 85 m². Earlier, the head of the Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, and the Minister of Economy of Syria, Mohammed Samir Khalil, signed a memorandum on regional trade and economic cooperation. It reinforces the intention of the Crimea and Syria to develop cooperation in the economic sphere, including in the framework of plans to create a Crimean-Syrian trading house and a joint shipping company to ensure regular sea freight between the ports of Latakia and the Russian Peninsula. Syrian students learn Russian language in the Syrian capital Damascus. Within the framework of humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Syria, it was decided to introduce the Russian language into the curriculum in some Syrian schools. In Syria, interest in higher education in Russia continues to grow — over the past year, the number of Syrians who would like to participate in Russian universities and institutes has quadrupled.

The Syrian Ministry of Higher Education announced that in 2019 grants will be provided for higher education in Russia, and has opened a record for those who want to get a university degree and certificates of higher education in Russia. In addition, Russia had previously expressed its willingness to help Syria with the training of professional personnel — the Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship and the Russian North Caucasus Federal University created regular training programs for Syrians who are learning the Russian language. Source.

The head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi said that the development plan and the formation of a joint Crimean-Syrian shipping company will be ready by March 1 of this year, it is expected that in March the company will already start shipping goods. February 16. Officers of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria distributed humanitarian aid to the families of the dead soldiers and war invalids in the town of Ain el Krum, Hama province.

February 17. The “Made in Syria” festival for the textile industry, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, is held at the exhibition center in Damascus.

The exhibition was attended by 300 companies specializing in men’s and women’s clothing. Total trade pavilions occupied an area of 12,000 meters. As it became known, about 800 foreign businessmen from 18 Arab and friendly countries took part in the event.

During the war, the festival was held in Beirut, since it was unsafe in Damascus. For the second year in a row it is held in the same place. This year the number of participants has tripled. The main purpose of the festival is to support the Syrian textile industry, small and medium businesses, establish business contacts and search for partners to establish exports abroad. With the end of the war, production in the Arab Republic is rapidly reviving. February 18. More than 2,000 stores began operating in the old markets of Aleppo after the Syrian Arab army regained full control over the city more than 2 years ago.

After the liberation of the city in the old part of Aleppo, an intensive restoration of commercial life is observed; most stores have already opened or are currently undergoing repairs and renovation. Russian Islamic Charitable Foundation «Zakyat» has collected more than 1 million rubles (~$20,000), which will be used to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Syria. The funds will be directed to the «Takaful» Foundation, which is one of the largest charitable foundations in the Middle East. The main part of assistance for Syrian refugees — 800 thousand rubles — came from the premiere of the spectacle «The Creator». In the Idlib de-escalation zone the Russian military is helping Syrians find their relatives. As reported by the Russian Reconciliation Center, a large number of people approach them daily. Appeals are very different: someone asks to demine the field, someone needs medical and humanitarian aid, but mostly people are looking for their loved ones with whom they were separated by the war.

Territorial divisions of the Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties receive Syrian citizens weekly. Russian officers act as middlemen between local residents and Syrian officials. All applications are registered and transmitted to the appropriate services. At the moment, about 500 applications for the loss of relatives have been submitted to the Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties. Source1 / Source2.

February 19. Tourist and scientific trips to the cities and archaeological sites in the vicinity of Daraa started. This became possible after the Syrian army regained full control and expelled the terrorists from there.

In total, about eighty students from the faculties of tourism and antiquities at the University of Damascus arrived at the site. They came to see how the monuments were preserved after years as a result of the war and the fight against terrorists in the region.

The Bosra Theater, located in the archaeological fortress of Bosra, is one of the most important Syrian attractions. The Council of Bosra, accompanied by student and tourist delegations, is ready to provide services that will contribute to the development of tourism. At the moment, a number of plans are being developed to restore life in the tourism sector; it is also expected to re-launch the festivals which were canceled in the city during the terrorist attacks. In Syrian Aleppo, there is an active restoration of the ancient temple. The Armenian Cathedral Church of the Holy Forty Martyrs is preparing to reopen its doors to parishioners. The terrorists destroyed the outstanding architectural structure almost to the ground. Retreating, they laid explosives in the underground tunnels, because of which the temple was destroyed by almost 70 percent. The restorers have done a tremendous amount of work — they have literally rebuilt every wall brick by brick. Old stones were collected throughout the area and re-laid.

It is planned that the first service in the temple will be held in late March — early April. The restoration of the church is funded by donations from believers of the Armenian community of Aleppo. At least 150 thousand people contributed to the restoration of the shrine. Source1 / Source2.

The requirement to resume flights to support the friendly people of Venezuela, suffering from US sanctions, was voiced by a number of Syrian deputies. Since the end of January, several rallies and meetings of the public took place in Damascus, the participants of which expressed solidarity with the inhabitants of a Latin American country and condemned the US intervention in its internal affairs.

The Department of Health in As-Swaida province allocated 36 million Syrian lira to the Ayn al-Zaman welfare center for free treatment services for citizens, the poor, orphans and IDPs. February 21. The Khalid ibn al-Walid mosque of the XIX century, which was damaged during the hostilities in Syria, opened in the city of Homs after reconstruction at the expense of the Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Regional Public Fund.

February 23. Syrian Electricity Ministry restored the transmission line between the Tifur airport area and the city of Palmyra in the rural area of eastern Homs. The area was destroyed by terrorists during their occupation.

The restoration of the power ine, which stretched for about 35 km, in addition to the 25 towers that collapsed, cost the Syrian authorities one billion Syrian pounds. The government is currently implementing a program to restore electricity to the city of Palmyra, to encourage people to return to it. Prior to this, the return process was slow due to the lack of life support services. More than 100 works of thin stone were exhibited on the Syrian coast. The Russian military conducted a humanitarian action in the province of Idlib. For the first time, the staff of the Russian Reconciliation Center arrived in the village of Tell-Hanzir. The reconciliation process continues in the Syrian Republic. So, on the eve it was possible to resolve the issue with 130 citizens from Homs and its suburbs. With the participation of about five thousand young men and women from the cities of the province of Damascus and its environs, as well as from the regions of Al-Quneitra, a youth carnival called “My love for Syria” was held. The carnival was organized by the Union of Revolutionary Youth of Syria.

Representatives of the youth and the public actively participated in the march; they marched from the Abbasids Arena to the Bab-Toum area in Old Damascus, thus they expressed their love for the country and their joy associated with the numerous victories of the Syrian Arab army in the war against terrorism. They are also sincerely excited about the return of security to their homeland.

February 24. Shopkeepers in Bab-en-Nasr in the old city of Aleppo continue to repair their stores in order to re-open them to their customers and return to their former active trade.

Most citizens already have a desire to make purchases. Store owners insisted on the speedy restoration of the commercial attractiveness of the old Aleppo market, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. As it turned out, they returned to their stores immediately after the terrorists left the city. This happened more than two years ago. Syria’s largest pharmaceutical company «Tamiko» launched the first after the war production line in the country. Plants that were previously located in East Ghouta, were completely destroyed after the actions of terrorist groups. After the cessation of hostilities, the Syrians managed to restore several workshops.

In the near future, one of the most important lines is being prepared for launch — it will produce antibiotics for children. Experts have already completed the installation of equipment. After several years of suspension of the Syrian national expertise, a fertilizer plant was opened in the south of Homs. Its production capacity ranges from 900 to 1000 tons of fertilizers daily. Operating a plant under an economic siege in Syria is a must. First of all, it is important for the authorities to meet the needs of the domestic market for nitrogen fertilizers. On the area of more than 2,000 m² several production lines were placed at once, which create means for washing windows, liquid soap and laundry detergents. Enterprises provide household products almost the entire country. February 27. Over the past day, representatives of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties held a humanitarian action in the village of Rasm-Ukairish, Aleppo province, during which 500 food sets were distributed to the needy residents.

Since the beginning of the settlement process, the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties has carried out 2,072 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian aid amounted to 3281.8 tons.

Assistance is ongoing to rebuild infrastructure and create conditions for the return of refugees. As of February 26, 2019, 31,294 residential buildings, 141 medical and 819 educational institutions were restored. 1012.1 km of roads repaired. Source.

Repair services continue to return telephone service to a number of cities and towns located in the rural area of Daraa province, which recently returned to the control of the legitimate Syrian government.
